Scholarship fund for Africans by Africa London Nagasaki (ALN)

Awarder: the African London Nagasaki fund in collaboration with London School of Hygiene and tropical medicine and also the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Japan.

Type of Scholarship: Masters degree

Details: this scholarship position for Africans would enable the candidate to take a masters either in

the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Nagasaki University, Japan or at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, London
,

Four scholarships would be given each year for the next five years, starting from 2010.

Amount: the scholarship is for

US$50,000
and this includes:

Tuition

Feeding

Travel

Living costs

Eligibility

For those applying to LSHTM:

1. Must be African and must be living in sub-Saharan Africa

2. Must be well spoken in English

3. Should have a first class or a second class upper degree from a reputable university in the science area.

4. Should have minimum of two years research experience related to infectious diseases.

For those applying to

the Institute of Tropical Medicine,
Nagasaki

must:

1. Must be African and must be living in sub-Saharan Africa

2. Must be well spoken in English

3. Should have an MBBS or MB ChB from a reputable university

4. Should have worked for at least two years in a clinical setting after graduation.
