60 Diamond Jubilee International Scholarships at Huddersfield, UK 2012-2013
A number of scholarships are now available at the University of Huddersfield, UK, for the academic session starting October 2012. These include 60 scholarships to mark Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee, two for African students, and many others. They are all open to international students. Read details below.
60 Diamond Scholarships
To mark Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee, and 60 years of her reign, the University of Huddersfield is offering sixty £1,000 scholarships to self-funding international Masters’ students from commonwealth countries.
These scholarships are available to self-funding (not sponsored) international students who are Commonwealth nationals applying for a full-time taught Master’s course (not research) and will be in addition to any other scholarship that the School may award.
Once you have applied for your course and received an offer from the University, you will be able to find the Jubilee Scholarship Application Form on our Applicant Portal, along with your offer and details of any other scholarship that you may have also been awarded. Please read the guidance carefully.
The Jubilee Scholarship awards will be made by a judging panel and successful applicants will be notified by e-mail in 2012.
The final deadline for scholarship applications is 31st of July 2012 and all successful applicants will be notified by email by 15th of August 2012.
Progression Scholarships for African Students
There are now two bursaries available to African students to help them study Education at University of Huddersfield. The first is open to all international students and is for £2,000 and the second is open to self-funding students from African states intending to study Education. This bursary is also worth £2,000, so this is a total of £4,000 available to self-funding students from African countries studying in the School of Education and Professional Development.
The University will award named discretionary scholarships of £2,000 per annum to applicants who meet our criteria. Applicants:
•Will automatically be considered for an award when they apply for a course.
•Must be international, full fee-paying applicants coming to study on campus in the UK. Applicants with refugee or asylum-seeker status will not qualify, nor will students with indefinite leave to remain in the UK or those who are in the UK as dependants.
•Must have applied for and obtained an offer to a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme at the University. The International Foundation Year, International Diploma, Pre-Master’s Programme, MBA any off-campus courses, and postgraduate research programmes are excluded from the scholarship scheme.
•Should not be receiving sponsorship from other sources. This includes official funding from Governments, Ministries, other scholarship programmes (i.e. Chevening or Commonwealth Shared Scholarships), or commercial organizations.
