Eiffel scholarships are France for foreign students wishing to study in France. The French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs launched the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship in January 1999 to support French centers of higher education in their recruitment efforts abroad, in a context of increasing competition among developed countries attract elite overseas students on master’s, engineering and PhD courses. It aims to attract the best international students identified by French institutions of higher education.

The fields of study covered by the Eiffel scholarships are:

• engineering at Masters level, science broadly to the PhD level (engineering, sciences such as mathematics, physics, chemistry and life, nano and bio-technology, earth and environmental sciences and information and communication science and technology)

• Economics and Management

• Law and Political Science

Value of scholarships / inclusions:
The Eiffel program does not cover tuition, although higher education centers concerned are invited to apply the best possible financial Eiffel fellows. Registration fees in the state-run higher education centers are waived for students on the program of the French government scholarships like this.

Eiffel scholarship on degree courses receive an allowance of € 1,181. In addition, the program matches miscellaneous expenses including return trip, health insurance and cultural activities. Fellows may also receive a housing allowance.

Eiffel scholarship on PhD courses receive an allowance of € 1,400. In addition, the program matches miscellaneous expenses including return travel (single return for students in law and political science in several stays), health insurance and cultural activities. Fellows may also receive a housing allowance.

You are eligible for a scholarship if you are enrolled in a course to award a master or colleges to award an engineering degree or a doctoral course in the context of a thesis collaborative supervision or co-supervision with a foreign partner institution of higher education.

Applicants for Masters courses must not be more than 30 years to the deadline for the selection committee of the March 8, 2013 (ie born after 03.08.1982) and not more than 35 years for the course Ph.D. (born after 03.08.1977)

Application Instructions:
Applications are not accepted by the students themselves, or non-French establishments. Eiffel scholarship applications are submitted by French higher education institutions. You must meet the requirements of the French Establishment to be considered for the scholarship.

The next deadline for applications is January 9, 2013. Deadline for the participation of French institutions may be sooner than that.
