2013 Scholarships for African women: Description
Moremi Initiative for Women’s Leadership in Africa is a non-profit organization that operates throughout Africa. To achieve its mission, Moremi Initiative continues to develop proactive strategies and empower women and girls to assume leadership roles in their communities.

Founded in 2004, Women’s Initiative for Empowerment and Leadership Development (handle) of the Foundation, Moremi Initiative is a program of the past Ghana-based leadership development program Pan-wide. Offices are based in Ghana, Nigeria and the United States, operating across Africa.

MILEAD Fellows Program is a one year program of leadership development designed to identify, develop and promote new young women African leaders to achieve and succeed in leadership in their community and Africa as a whole.

The program targets dynamic young women interested in developing transformational leadership skills that help them tackle issues affecting women in their communities and society as a whole – by providing them with world-class knowledge, skills, values ​​and networks they need to succeed as 21st century women leaders.

Moremi Initiative for Women’s Leadership in Africa (Moremi Initiative) announces its annual call for applications for the 2013 Moremi Leadership Empowerment and Development (MILEAD) Fellows Program for young African women living in Africa and the diaspora.

Eligibility
To be eligible for one-year program, the applicant must:

be African, living on the continent or in the diaspora;
agree to participate in all activities related to MILEAD necessary, including a three-week residential summer institute in Ghana;
engage in community change project
be between 19 to 25 years.

Selection criteria:
Scholarship will be awarded to outstanding young women with exceptional qualities who have demonstrated leadership potential in their community, organization and / or profession.

Eligible groups
All African nationals – applications are welcome from ALL young African women living in Africa and the Diaspora, who have the passion and potential to help transform Africa.

The scholarship will be awarded to 25 outstanding young women
