2013 PHd Scholarship for Developing countries
Sawiris Doctoral Fellowships promote research for the benefit of developing countries. Projects must be innovative and develop a method or product that is directly relevant to improving the livelihoods of poor people in developing countries.
To be admitted to the selection procedure, the application must meet the following conditions:
Preference will be given to citizens of least developed countries and other low-income countries according to the OECD classification.
Admission requirements for doctoral studies at ETH Zurich must be met.
Experience in the chosen research is required.
The research project
The proposal is of high scientific quality and adheres to the principles of scientific integrity.
The research topic is innovative and relevant to development.
The ecological, socio-economic and cultural development was taken into account.
Reasonable results are expected in a timely manner.
The expected impact of the research is high for the target group.
Projects involving a research partner from a developing country should be based on the principles KFPE.
All partners have been involved in project formulation and development.
All partners are committed substantial in kind or in cash.
The project is integrated into the general activities of the institutions involved.
Preference will be given to projects with partners in the least developed countries and other low-income countries according to the OECD classification.
