Oikos PHD Scholarships 2013 for Africans
Scholarship Program oikos PhD aims to promote entrepreneurship focused on research in the areas of sustainable management and economics.
To target this objective, the program supports outstanding international students to pursue a Ph.D. at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Oikos Fellows receive a grant for three years to complete the doctoral courses, conduct research, complete their doctoral thesis and contribute to the sustainability of concrete projects related activities oikos.

Oikos Fellows develop entrepreneurial skills-based project management while at the same time the construction of scientific expertise based on a platform of research excellence at the University of St. Gallen, a leading management school Europe.
They can also take advantage of the global network of the oikos.
Oikos PhD Fellowship each carries a 36-month grant of CHF 108,000.
The program consists of an intensive preparatory course (Phase course) during the first year in the program of regular PhD, University of St. Gallen, followed by two years of higher education and research (Phase thesis), which are devoted to the writing of the thesis.
The program aims to promote innovative research and relevant in the field of sustainable development, management and economics.
Research topics may cover all sectors involved in this field.
oikos PhD Fellows may conduct research in a program of their choice in five doctoral programs offered by the University of St. Gallen.
Each fellow will be supervised by oikos PhD researcher at the University of St. Gallen and an official selection of the winner’s university of St. Gallen or university.
Selected doctoral candidateswill be supported in finding their individual program and doctoral supervisor.
In addition, oikos Fellows are invited to attend and submit papers to academic conferences during their fellowship.
oikos cover registration fees and travel expenses up to a maximum rate of CHF 900 per quarter, provided that the fellow has a document approved at a conference.
Oikos Fellows commit to invest 30 percent (1.5 days) per week to support international activities oikos.
Fellows will have the opportunity to shape international key projects within the oikos.
We therefore look for entrepreneurial people focused on the ability to manage an ambitious research project doctorate while engaged in activities of international projects.
