Federal Government of Nigeria Scholarship 2013 Description
The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Education through the Federal Council offers scholarships to the Bilateral Education (BEA) Overseas Scholarships to Nigerian undergraduate students master’s and doctorate.
BEA prices are made eligible for scholarships Nigerian youth after due process by development partners that have concluded bilateral educational pact with Nigeria. Nigeria also prices reciprocity for the citizens of the following countries bilateral agreement on education: China, Romania and Cuba.
The Minister of Education (HME) is invited interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in the interview 2013/2014 Bilateral Agreement for Appointment of Education (BEA) Scholarship tenable in Russia, China, Cuba, Morocco, Algeria, Romania, Ukraine, Turkey, Egypt, Japan, Serbia, Mexico, Macedonia, etc.
Eligibility criteria for the award of BEA
(A) Graduate Scholarships:
All candidates must hold a first degree at least 2nd Division of the upper class.
Candidates who are recipients of foreign exchanges must have completed at least two (2) years after the qualifying practice or employment in Nigeria.
Knowledge of the language of the donor country is desired particularly for those applying for Russian prices.
All applicants must have completed NYSC
The age limit is 35 years for masters and 40 years for a PhD
(B) Scholarships Undergraduate:
All applicants for undergraduate courses must have a minimum qualification of five (5) Awards (As & Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificate (WAEC or NECO) in subjects relevant to their field of study, including English and mathematics.
Certificates should not be more than three (3) years (2010 – 2012).
Candidates in October 2013 will be at Level 300 and above any tertiary institution should not apply.
The age limit is 23 years
NOTE (For all applicants): Knowledge of the language of their choice is an added advantage.
Awards are open to eligible young Nigerian who meet “Eligibility Criteria for Award BEA above
All accredited institutions of higher education in the participating countries which have bilateral agreements of Education (BEA) with Nigeria.
Some countries BEA currently are: Russia, China, Cuba, Morocco, Algeria, Romania, Ukraine, Turkey, Egypt, Japan, Serbia, Mexico , Macedonia, etc.
Fields of Study
Fields of study:
Undergraduate level – Medical, Paramedical, engineering, geology, agriculture, science, mathematics, languages, environmental sciences, sports, law, social sciences, etc.
Postgraduate (Masters and PhD) in all areas
Scholars studying the language of the country in their first year, which is the language of instruction throughout their study. It is relevant to note that the performance in the course of language determines the continuation of the program of study for which the award was made.

Duration of sponsorship
The duration of the scholarship offer from 4 to 9 years depending on the level of education and country.
Participating countries (see above) are responsible for education and housing, while the Nigerian government takes care of the following;
$ 500 per month for supplements
$ 250 per year for warm clothes
$ 200 per year for health insurance
$ 500 per year for medical researchers only
$ 1,000 annual grant for PG research were applicable
N100, 000 – Takeoff for researchers PG were applicable
N60, 000 – Takeoff learned were applicable to UG

Location of interview:
All eligible applicants must attend an interview in the places closest to them as provided for respective states of origin. Two sets of completed application forms must be submitted in the centers of interviews with different attachments:
Two certified copies of certificates of educational and Testimony
One certificate will be accepted ie WAEC or NECO
Statement of results must be confirmed by WAEC or NECO and forwarded to the Director / Secretary Federal Scholarship Board, Abuja.
Two copies of the birth certificate.
State certificate of origin signed, stamped and dated.
Eight (8) passport size color photos on white background size
Medical certificate, including HIV / AIDS and hepatitis B free certificates obtained from a university hospital, General Hospital and the National Hospital in Abuja.
Police certificate, including fingerprints of the police station nearest to the place of residence
Data page of international passport current and
Transcripts and NYSC certificates will be required of candidates for postgraduate studies.
The original documents must be displayed on site interview for observation.

Places 2013/2014 BEA and interview dates are scheduled between 11th to 15th March 2013. Applications must be submitted prior to the nomination meeting from 11 to 15th March 2013. Please note that the application deadline has not exactly been announced at the time of publication of this update.
