Carnegie Engineering Scholarships for Africans 2013
Carnegie Corporation offers graduate scholarships for African students in South Africa. The scholarship is tenable at the University of Cape Town. Scholarships are available in the field of urban engineering and water engineering. Doctoral students must be enrolled at the University of Cape Town. Two scholarships are offered to R150 000 per annum. The scholarship is renewed annually. The maximum duration of the scholarship is three years. Send a completed application before 22 March 2013.
Carnegie Engineering Scholarships for Africans 2013 Study Subject (s): Applications are invited from candidates in the areas of research to be conducted in:
1. Urban engineering, focused on the contribution that civil engineers could make the cities of present and future, which may lie in the research areas of water engineering sub-disciplines of transportation engineering, and other more established but can not be adequately addressed by the existing sub-disciplines only. An element of Urban Engineering scholarship will contribute to our understanding of urban engineering in academia and in practice, and to explore how students and future practitioners could be better developed in this area.
2. Water Engineering, focused on hydraulic modeling and / or experimental study of the dynamic behavior of leaks in water distribution systems.
Course Level: This scholarship is available for further post-graduate level.

-Candidates must qualify for doctoral studies at the University of Cape Town.
-Preference may be given to students who have already begun doctoral studies at the University of Cape Town.
