In 1996, the Technical-Scientific CICOPS approved a scholarship project to encourage collaborative research between academics in developing countries and the University of Pavia. The scholarships are designed for both junior and senior members of universities in developing countries and members of major research centers and international organizations with specific interests in the field of development studies.
Since 1998, the University of Pavia (UNIPV) and the Institute for University Studies (EDISU) offered ten scholarships each year for a stay of four to ten weeks in Pavia, in which researchers from conduct research in collaboration with faculty in the department that welcomes and frequently organize seminars.
CICOPS scholarships are now being accepted for 2014. Academics and other researchers from developing countries who wish to conduct research in collaboration with a professor at the University of Pavia are invited to apply.
Scholarships are devoted to academics and researchers from developing countries who wish to conduct research with a professor at the University of Pavia.
Applicants must have two years of teaching experience either or activity of international organizations and institutions.
CICOPS scholarships are intended for research collaboration in the short term (4 to 10 weeks) to encourage the mobility of researchers in developing countries and can not be assigned in case of doctoral studies or enrollment in a course graduate in an Italian university.

Approximately ten (10) annual scholarships. UNIPV EDISU and provide twelve (12) scholarships for the year.
From 2012, more than 150 scholarships have been awarded to scholars from 40 different countries to conduct research in Pavia.
Duration of sponsorship
Short-term (4-10 weeks)
Scholarship includes travel (economy class), board and lodging expenses and pocket money 150.00 euros (gross) per week.

Applications must be supported by a letter of invitation from a professor at the University of Pavia, someone who works with you on a joint research project while in Pavia. Without an official invitation from a professor at the University of Pavia, your application will not be considered.
