GNRC offers doctoral scholarships for foreign students in Germany. The GCSC offers up to 13 PhD scholarships each year. Research areas are studies GCSC cultural memory Narratologies cultural transformation, culture and performativity studies, visual and material culture studies, media studies and multilingual cultural identities, global studies and policy space and cultures of knowledge, research and education. Doctoral Scholarships 2013 for Africans Eligibility: The GCSC particularly welcomes applications for PhD scholarships for students who
A-excellent grades research programs of two years master track in one of the GCSC’s academic disciplines or cultural studies.
-If the primary purpose of the applicant is not on the list of affiliated departments (for example, if you have a degree in cultural studies), he / she may still be eligible for membership of the GCSC, gave his / his research can contribute to a research profile of CSAG.

Open Scholarship for International Students: GCSC receptions and encourage candidates from all over the world.

Scholarship Description: Acceptance of a scholarship requires participation in curriculum and research and large-scale events offered by the GCSC, as well as active participation in research groups relevant GCSC graduates. Named doctoral fellowships are also expected to contribute to one of the GCSC’s research areas and to initiate contact and document research projects in collaboration, such as conferences or publications.
Fellows must be enrolled as PhD students at Justus Liebig University and are expected to settle in or near Giessen. PhD supervisors in the Faculty of GCSC can be chosen by the candidates before or shortly after admission. There are no tuition fees for doctoral students at JLU, except for the registration fee of 200 € per semester.

Selection Criteria: The selection of candidates will be determined by their academic qualifications as well as the quality of the research proposal and the relevance of the project for the GCSC’s research program. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview 30 minutes at GCSC (10-12 June).

Notice: As of March 20, GCSC notify applicants of their successful application to proceed to the second step. GCSC notify applicants (15 May) they will be invited to an interview for a scholarship GNRC and membership.

How to Apply: The application form is online. It is a process of two-stage application for doctoral and post-doctoral positions research team.
Step one: To apply for a scholarship CSAG, you will first be asked to complete and submit the application form online and download the desired documents before the current deadline (March 1).
By March 20 the second step GCSC will notify the applicant of the success of his / her request.
