2016 University of Sheffield Postgraduate Scholarships for East and South African Candidates


University of Sheffield is pleased to offer six scholarships to students of high academic ability for 2016 entry. East and South African students are eligible to apply for these scholarships. These are awarded to undertake postgraduate program at the university.

The University aims to assist overseas students who require financial assistance with scholarships specifically for International students.

The University is ranked 97th in the world and 15th in the UK according to the 2015-16 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, a rise of three and 24 places respectively.

There are high entrance requirements for masters degree programmes at Sheffield reflect the quality of the University. Applicants may be required to take an internationally recognized English language test such as IELTS.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for international students to pursue masters degree program.

Study Subject: Scholarships are tenable in all subject areas at the university of Sheffield.

Scholarship Award:  Each scholarship is worth 50% of the Postgraduate yearly tuition fee per year. The scholarships will take the form of a fee reduction.

Eligibility: Scholarship has its own set of eligibility criteria which applicants should check carefully to make sure applicants are eligible before you apply. The scholarship will be awarded to international on the basis of merit. To be eligible for the Scholarship:
-To be eligible for the scholarships applicants must be self-funding and classed as ‘Overseas’ for fee purposes and a national of or permanently domiciled in either: Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia or Zimbabwe and apply for a study place by Friday 17 June 2016 for entry in September 2016.
-The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the supporting statement. The final decision will be made by an academic panel.

Nationality: Students of Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia or Zimbabwe are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

College Admission Requirement: A good undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification, Three years to five years’ postgraduate work experience. This should include appropriate experience as a manager or in a supervisory role and On occasion, the university may consider delegates without a first degree but with significant management experience

English Language Requirements: Applicants may be required to take an internationally recognised English language test such as IELTS. You need IELTS 7.0 with no component below 6.

How to Apply: If applicants wish to be considered for this scholarship applicants need to apply. Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January 2016 onwards. Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.
