African Studies Fellowships Available for African Scholars at ASC, Netherlands


The African Studies Center (ASC), University of Lieden has opened African studies fellowships at the University of Lieden for this year. These African studies fellowships are intended for doctoral students who are at an advanced level in their program to contribute to the effective academic dialogue between Africa and the North.

The current interest revolves around the following topics

  • anthropology
  • economics
  • human geography
  • history
  • law
  • sociology
  • the applied sciences of agronomy
  • nutrition

Applicants for the African Studies fellowships must:

  • be fluent in English and/or French
  • have published works in internationally acclaimed journals
  • be able to return to their country of origin upon completing the program
