The German Historical Institute (GHI) in Paris and Sorbonne Political Research Center (CREPOS-UCAD), Dakar, Senegal invites future PhD students for the DHIP-CREPOS Doctoral Awards. These awards are for current PhD students who are able to successfully complete PhD thesis. The thesis under research should follow the general thematic frame of the project on “The bureaucratisation of African societies”.
Awards are available for pursuing research and write to PhD thesis at the University Cheikh Anta Diop, Dakar, Senegal. Fields of interest are history, sociology, political science, anthropology or other related disciplines.
Knowledge of German, French or English is required. It is an advantage to know at least two of the languages. Knowledge of at least one African language is welcome.
Applicants should be thise who are already registered as PhD students or who have the necessary qualification to do so. Writing a PhD at one of the partner institutes is encouraged. Applicants who are currently completing a Masters programme are also eligible if they have a confirmation of a future PhD supervisor to supervise the dissertation.
Successful candidates are also expected to participate in the academic and logistic organization of research activities, seminars and conferences in the context of the program. Institute search for young scholars with team spirit and willing to take responsibility.
