French Government Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme for Study in France

The Eiffel Excellence has been provided for masters and Ph.D students wishing to further their studies.

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme Master’s branch, which funds master’s courses lasting between 12 and 36 months while the PhD branch offers funding for PhD students to spend ten months in France, through joint supervision or dual enrolment (preferably in the second year of their PhD).

Eiffel scholarships are available in three main fields:

  • engineering science at master’s level, science in the broadest sense at PhD level
  • economics and management
  • law and political sciences

The scholarship is awarded for between 12 and 36 months depending on the level of degree for the Master’s branch.

The PhD branch lasts for a maximum of 10 months.

The Eiffel scholarship for the Masters branch includes a monthly allowance of €1,181 . In addition, one international return journey, social security cover, cultural activities are covered. Scholarship holders may also receive an additional housing allowance, under certain conditions.

At the PhD level, the Eiffel scholarship includes a monthly allowance of €1,400. In addition, one international return journey, social security cover, cultural activities are covered.
Scholarship holders may also receive an additional housing allowance, under certain conditions. Tuition fees are not covered by the Eiffel Programme.

Timeline:

  • Opening of the call for applications: October 10th, 2016
  • Deadline for receipt of applications by Campus France : January 6th, 2017
  • Announcement of results: Week of March 20th, 2017

  1. Is this scholarship only for African students or also available for Chinese students, please?
    I am a Chinese student who is begining to do a phd study from December of 2016 in DCU, Ireland. Could I apply for this scholarship, please? I am very interested in French research institutes/ universities, and want to do a joint program or visiting program.
