The Institute for Transport Studies (ITS), University of Leeds, is offering a number of fees scholarships, each worth up to £8875, to provide development opportunities to international students of outstanding ability, achievement and potential.
The scholarships will fund 50% of the tuition fees for international, UK and EU students to undertake a full-time Masters degree programme at ITS, on a one year full-time basis. The scholarships form part of the ITS mission to advance the understanding of transport globally via the development of skills and best practice.
The ITS at the University of Leeds invites applications from suitably qualified applicants worldwide for the International Transport Masters Scholarships 2017.
Eligible candidates must first hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) of an academic place on an ITS Masters programme for the academic year commencing September 2017.
All applications will be assessed on a competitive basis. A scholarship award cannot be deferred and will lapse if not accepted in September 2017.
This award will only apply to a one year full-time Master’s Degree Programme offered at the ITS. The academic progress of scholarship recipients will be subject to on-going review – ITS reserves the right to withdraw funding at the end of either semester should academic performance be unsatisfactory
The are PARTIAL scholarships providing 50% tuition fee waivers for the 2017-18 academic year (equivalent to the value of £8875 for international students; or £3500 for UK/EU students).
Method of Application
Scholarship applicants must first have received an offer (conditional or unconditional) of an academic place for a full-time Masters degree programme at the Institute for Transport Studies. Applicants should submit the ITS scholarship form, including a statement of 500 words on how a Masters degree would enable them to make a difference to transportation (e.g in their country, region or area) and specifically to tackle a significant problem or issue. Nominees for scholarship awards are selected based on academic merit and the information provided in their application form.
Scholarship applications should be submitted to ITS no later than 22d June 2017 for both international applicants and UK/EU applicants
Shortlisted applicants will be notified by email within 4 weeks of the application deadline.
Preference will be given to applicants who would otherwise be precluded from undertaking a Masters programme; ITS reserves the right not to make scholarship awards or to offer a fee waiver at a lower amount; the scholarship recipients will be expected to support the future development and promotion of the scholarships and ITS, by participating in ITS marketing activities
