Africa London Nagasaki Scholarship For Africans 2019-2020
Africa London Nagasaki Scholarship: The Africa London Nagasaki (ALN) fund is a scholarship fund set up to support African scientists to undertake a Master’s degree in a subject relevant to the control of infectious disease in Africa.
The fund offers MSc Scholarships for African scientists.
Both residential and distance learning MSc courses are available at LSHTM.
Candidates who have offers in a course at the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Nagasaki need to reside in Japan for the duration of the course.
London Nagasaki Africans Scholarship Eligibility
Candidates applying for the Africa Scholarship must:
- Be of African nationality and normally be resident in sub-Saharan Africa,
- Be fluent in English,
- Have obtained an MB ChB or equivalent medical qualification from a recognised university for NEKKEN, or have a first or upper second class BSc degree or equivalent from an established university in a relevant area of science (a medical degree is not essential for LSHTM).
- Possess at least two years of clinical experience following graduation for NEKKEN, or for LSHTM. Have had at least two years’ prior research experience in an area relevant to the study of infectious diseases,
- Have the support of the head of their institution for undertaking their chosen course
Successful applicants will receive a maximum of US$50,000 each to cover tuition fees, travel and living expenses.
